Collection of materials related to St. Joseph School, Biddeford, which belonged to Pauline (Gaudette) Canning, SJHS '49. The collection contains images, class photos, clippings, correspondence, programs, albums and certificates. One item not related to SJS is the elementary school diploma from Saco's Burns School belonging to Kenneth Canning.

Pauline Canning (1930-2012) was born in Biddeford, the only child of William and Aurore (Morin) Gaudette. She attended St. Joseph Schools in Biddeford, graduating from the high school in 1949. The next year, she married Kenneth Canning of Saco and they had five children. Canning worked inside and outside of the home, volunteered in the community and participated in various clubs and musical performance groups.

Folder 1
SJHS class of 1949 reunion photographs - 1974-2002. These information single and group portraits and snapshots were located in a vinyl album, which was discarded. The photos were thus removed, numbered in order, and replaced in archival pocket pages, along with any enclosed information (such as reunion number, year, etc.)

Album of Saco parade/Expo 67 (Montreal, QC) - 1967. A paper photoalbum showing, in the first half, a parade which took place in Saco in 1967 and, in the second half, snapshots from the World's Fair, Montreal, QC from that same year.

Diploma issued from Saco Public Schools-Clementine Kendrick Burns School. Issued to Kenneth Howard Canning for graduation from Elementary School, June 8, 1939. Signed by Lewis G. Brock, mayor; Lewis E. Webber, principal; and Harry C. Hull, superintendent. Includes two intact City of Saco gold seals.
