• Bernard Langlais papers, circa 1925-2010 - Finding Aid
  
  The papers of Bernard Langlais measure 13.3 linear feet and date from circa 1925 to 2010. The papers document Langlais' career as a painter and sculptor through correspondence with friends, colleagues, and art institutions and organizations; writings; exhibition records, video recordings about Langlais, resumes, and other professional activity files; appraisals, invoices, inventories, and other personal business records; newspaper and magazine clippings, exhibition announcements and catalogs, and press releases; as well as scrapbooks, drawings, sketchbooks, and photographic material of Langlais and his artwork.

  The papers of sculptor and teacher Thomas Morin measure 4.7 linear feet and date from 1952-2015. His career at several universities and art schools as well as his work as a sculptor and metalsmith are documented through biographical material, correspondence, writings, professional files, printed material, and artwork. The bulk of the collection consists of photographs and slides of Morin's artwork and the fabrication process.

• Joel Martin Halpern Atlas of Massachusetts Collection - Finding Aid
  
  As a contributor to the Atlas of Massachusetts, Professor Joel Halpern collected data and articles in support of his essay published in the “Ethnic Groups” section. The collection consists primarily of drafts of his essay and research notes.
• Melvin B. Yoken Franco-American collection - Finding Aid
  
  The collection consists mainly of items documenting the French Canadian Community of New England, such as newspapers, flyers, programs, calendars, and notes on the history of French Canadian immigration, all collected by retired UMD professor of Foreign Languages (French) Melvin B. Yoken. Also included in the collection is a series of recordings made at events organized by the Friends of the Fall River Public Library. Prof. Yoken was involved in this organization. See MC 106 for a student oral history project overseen by Prof. Yoken.
• Omer E. Boivin papers - Finding Aid
  
  The majority of the collection consists of French-language newspapers and clippings pertaining to prominent members of the Fall River community, Franco-American organizations, and medical associations. The collection also contains notes, correspondence, and speeches from the various organizations of which Dr. Boivin was a member; programs for conferences and celebrations from The French Cultural Association and The St. Anne School; and a black and white photograph of the Lafayette Monument on Eastern Avenue in Fall River. The most notable item in the collection is a large 18x13x4 indexed scrapbook which contains newspaper clippings on local doctors, lawyers, church and school leaders of French Canadian descent, as well as events, organizations, and associations within the French Canadian community of Fall River. The bulk of these clippings date from 1935-1977. The scrapbook also contains thank you notes, cards, and photographs which are attached to the inside covers.
• James S. Leamon collection of Maine research material - Finding Aid
  
  The collection includes research material on Lewiston/Auburn and Maine history compiled by Bates professor of history James Leamon in the course of his research on the early history of Maine. There are subject folders on the mills, architecture, economy, government, and general history of the Lewiston/Auburn area. Additionally, there is a significant amount of information about the Franco-Americans in Maine and the Penobscot Expedition of 1779, the largest American naval expedition of the American Revolution.
• Edmund S. Muskie Oral History Collection, 1985-2007 - Finding Aid
  
  The Edmund S. Muskie oral history collection contains recorded spoken memories from a broad range of individuals who knew, affected or were affected by Senator Edmund S. Muskie in the course of his life and career. Narrators include Senator Muskie's childhood friends and acquaintances, college contemporaries, Maine legislators, political associates and competitors, reporters and editors, campaign supporters, gubernatorial and Senate office staff, Senate colleagues and committee staff members, public agency officials, lobbyists, State Department officials, foreign policy specialists, law practice associates, public policy advocates, citizens associated with Senator Muskie in a variety of programs, and personal friends. Their opinions and perpsectives range from adulation to criticism, providing a rich variety of insights and recollections. Each interview is documented with an audio recording, a transcript and a summary sheet, containing biographical information about the interviewee and an abstract of the interview. Funding for the creation, processing, and online publication of the Muskie Oral History Collection was generously provided by the Edmund S. Muskie Foundation.
• Painchaud's Band research collection - Finding Aid
  
  The Painchaud's Band collection contains clippings, notes and drafts for an article written by Kennebunk, Maine author and historian Joyce Butler. The article, about Biddeford's celebrated Painchaud's Band, appeared in the September 1977 issue of Down East Magazine.

  The papers of a professor of history at the University of Maine, Orono. The papers contain materials concerning his research, writing, and teaching. Professor Doty was the author of Acadian Hard Times. Included are manuscripts, correspondence, syllabi, lecture notes, research papers, research notes, photographs, slides, and articles.
