  The papers of a professor of history at the University of Maine, Orono. The papers contain materials concerning his research, writing, and teaching. Professor Doty was the author of Acadian Hard Times. Included are manuscripts, correspondence, syllabi, lecture notes, research papers, research notes, photographs, slides, and articles.

  The papers of an educator, poet, and major figure in the Franco-American revival of the 1970s. The collection includes his poetry, artwork, correspondence, scrapbooks, manuscripts, published works, research materials, and teaching materials. Also included are materials concerning bilingual education, human rights, and the St. John Valley Bilingual Project.
• Nora Marquis Baker collection - Finding Aid
  
  For the most part, this collection is made up of personal letters, photographs, cards, notebooks, and scrapbooks. There are maps of and documents about New Canada. Other non-personal documents: Will of Georgiana Bourgoin, Naturalization papers of Alfred Bourgoin, and a description of the plot of land in New Canada that Nora and Joe Baker bought from Joseph Daigle in 1949.

• Russell Banks Collection - Finding Aid
  
  This collection contains material relating to American novelist and poet Russell Banks and his professional activities. The bulk of the collection is a corrected typescript of The Book of Jamaica (1980). Other materials include correspondence with colleagues and a published review Banks wrote of Ha Jin’s War Trash in 2004.
• Russell Banks Papers - Finding Aid
  
  The literary papers of American writer Russell Banks span a fifty-year career from the early 1960s to 2012. The collection includes material for his novels and collected short stories, from notes and drafts of works to publication material and reviews, as well as screenplays written by Banks and by others based on his novels. Also present are shorter works, such as articles and essays, introductions, plays, poems, reviews, and short stories. The papers also contain extensive correspondence, articles about Banks, biographical information, diary notes, contracts, published material, and works by others.
• Pierre-Jean Le Calvez (also known as Peter J. Carpenter), Catholic priest.
  
  Consists of copies of published articles supplied to Serge Duigou for the preparation of his biography of Pierre-Jean Le Calvez. Also included are copies of Marie-Elizabeth Dumas' baptism and death records, plus correspondence between Vermont History Center staff and Mr. Duigou.
• Monty family deeds
  
  This collection consists of deeds and other documents relating to lands owned by the Monty (Monta) family in Colchester, Vermont. Included are warrantee, quit-claim, and mortgage deeds, as well as related legal documents. Family members related to deeds in the collection include: John Monty, Sr. (1784-1868), John Monty, Jr. (1819-1879) and his wife Elsie Monty (1820-1890), Benjamin Monta (1843-1926) and his wife Almira Shutts Monta (1845-1933), Harley C. Monta (1890-1959) and his wife Ada Morrow Monta (1890-1968), and Emery B. Monta (1874-1946). Also included are deeds of Anna A. Morrow, possibly the sister of Ada Morrow Monta. Early documents spelled the last name "Monty" while later ones used both "Monta" and "Monty."
• Barre, Vermont Heritage Festival collection
  
  The collection includes a variety of materials relating to the planning and execution of the 1970 Barre Heritage Festival. Formats of collection materials vary widely, including programs, pamphlets, tickets, passes, certificates, news clippings, and a scrapbook. In addition to documenting the Festival, the collection also includes information on the history of the town and city of Barre, Vermont. The story of the Goldsbury family, early settlement of Barre, the history of churches in Barre, arrival of immigrant groups and the flood of 1927 are all touched on in the collection. The impact of the Civil War, the Spanish-​American War, World War I, and World War II are briefly explored. Dated items are all from 1970.
• Barre (Vt.) Ethnic Heritage Festival collection
  
  The collection includes materials relating to the Barre Ethnic Heritage Festivals of 1978 through 1982, and 1984. Most of the materials are programs and news clippings relating to each festival. Photographs and negatives from a few of the festivals are also included. The festivals focused on the history of many of the immigrant groups that settled in Barre, primarily as granite workers, including Scottish, Irish, Italian, French Canadian, German, and Polish immigration to Barre, Vermont. Dated items range from 1978 through 1984.
