The papers of a popular vocalist in the U.S. during the 20th century. Included are correspondence from 1917 to 1984, newspaper clippings, scores, photographs, scrapbooks, phonograph records, megaphone, and other memorabilia.
This collection consists of Lisa Ornstein's research materials, fieldwork notes, project guides, and drafts of the final project report, as well as correspondence between Ornstein and other project contributors. While some of the materials duplicate those in the Maine Acadian Culture Survey collection (MCC-0006), the materials in this collection include original notes and other materials. The collection also provides a thorough look into the fieldworker component of the project.
