The collection consists of five account and daybooks from the business of Matthew J. Caldbeck of St. Johnsbury, Vermont, and of his son, George Caldbeck, between 1884 and 1911. Loose leaf documents included with these account books include two sales slips for M. J. Caldbeck, Son & Company and three sales slips for A. L. Bragg in an account book from 1884 (Volume 1). Other account books include one daybook kept by George Caldbeck between 1891 and 1892 and two account books spanning 1907-1911 and 1907-1909 (latter in XMSC 114).Also included is a directory of pricing information for various business created by George W. Caldbeck and including the following businesses among others: Boston Plate & Window Glass Co., American Screw Company, Gregg and Sons (New Hampshire), Eagle-Picher Lead Company (New York), and Cabot's Cresote Stained Shingles (Massachusetts, New York, Illinois).
