Believed to be a colorized tintype of Ferdinand Lewis (dit Clermont), father of Joseph Lewis. Ferdinand 's son Joseph immigrated to Troy, NY. He is believed to have died from cholera or complications from cholera after having helped individuals who were suffering from cholera in Quebec City.
